12.1 Tools Settings Lost
As a recent convert to C1 I'd be interested to know if there is a way of updating the software without losing previous changes. Downloading the App again is an unusual way to update software, but I can't find any other way to do it in C1.
I had been using the Tools on the right but after just uploading 12.1 these moved back to the left. This was easy enough to put back again, but I had also reordered the tools, and created one with all the settings I used most often, but this has now disappeared.

There may be another way, but once you get everything set up as you want it, save your workspace with a custom name.
I just re-opened my saved workspace and everything returned to how it had been.
As an aside I suspect that many programs do in fact just download the entire program when updating, its just hidden from you by the update process.0 -
Thank you for your reply. I had actually saved a workspace which I've now just found thanks to your post.
I had completely forgotten about this feature as there's a lot of new stuff to take in after working with Aperture for the last 10 years.
I have learnt a lot from watching David Grover's videos, but it's an ongoing process and not everything has 'stuck' yet.0 -

Glad you got it sorted 😊
There is a lot to learn with C1, but it's worth it.
Cheers,
