problem editing colors
Hello
I need help again.
This is my photo: I have a model who is standing behind a white background. I want to turn this background in some light green of my choice.
I followed the tutorials as a nice schoolboy to create the layer from the global editor and then adjust the mask behind the model.
Again following the instructions, I go to the color editor of my layer and choose the color of background and use the hue wheel and then saturation to get the great green that I would like to have on my photo.
But what I get instead is a weak blemish pink in the background .... Everything is perfect in color editor. What did I miss ???
Also it happens that my models turn in B&W with this blemish pink still there. I did not do anything supplementary. I see in the side browser that my model has still her beautiful skin. I have no solution to quit C11 and open again to have my photo .
If I disable the layer, I still have this effect. 😭 When I open, I see the photo with the model not anymore in B&W.
I also I noticed that when I draw the mask with the brush. When I press the brush in the left menu, I don't get the filling menu with options Brush, Erase, Grayscale Mask.... I have to say that I use a Macbook pro....
I know: it is a lot in one post...
Thanks for help

Pressing the M key will turn on and off the mask which can be light pink in color.
On the color editor tool if View Selected Color Range is turned on it will turn colors not selected black and white.
Are either of these happening?
Not sure why the options under the brush tool would go away though.0 -

To the first questions, cdc has already answered.
Sometimes it also happens to me (and my MacBook Pro) that the menu doesn't drop down when I press the brush when I use my mouse. If, in that cases, I use the trackpad instead, it works fine.0 -
hello
thanks for the answers !
ok glad to know that for the brush thing it might be a hardware problem. Hope C11 can fix it...
to the first questions. I am still left with the problem.
When I press M, my mask becomes a beautiful red to show where is the mask. Unpress M and the blemish pink is back.
In the color editor, if the view selected color range is turned on, all colors become B&W. So it means that something prevents the choice of color that I made in the color editor to be applied ( to remind, it is a local adjustment that I have as a layer).
Thanks for help 😄0 -
Have you tried to turn off hardware acceleration in the preferences? 0 -
I think you should try the colour editor on some other image (just as a test) not one where you are trying to change a white background - for example, just as an experiment try changing the colour of a blue sky. Does that work as expected? Because I wonder whether the problem is that a white background is not really a colour - its a mix of all of them. Also, you say that show selected colour range turns the whole image to B&W, but as far as the white background is concerned, how would you know whether it was in B&W or colour?
So my suggestion is to check whether the colour editor works as advertised for you at all. If it does, then the problem may be that you are trying to do something with it that it isn't suited to doing, and we could help you explore some other way of achieving your aim.
