Pressing the M key will turn on and off the mask which can be light pink in color.
On the color editor tool if View Selected Color Range is turned on it will turn colors not selected black and white.

    Are either of these happening?

Not sure why the options under the brush tool would go away though.

I also I noticed that when I draw the mask with the brush. When I press the brush in the left menu, I don't get the filling menu with options Brush, Erase, Grayscale Mask.... I have to say that I use a Macbook pro....

To the first questions, cdc has already answered.

Sometimes it also happens to me (and my MacBook Pro) that the menu doesn't drop down when I press the brush when I use my mouse. If, in that cases, I use the trackpad instead, it works fine.

    hello

    thanks for the answers !

ok glad to know that for the brush thing it might be a hardware problem. Hope C11 can fix it...

to the first questions. I am still left with the problem.

When I press M, my mask becomes a beautiful red to show where is the mask. Unpress M and the blemish pink is back.

In the color editor, if the view selected color range is turned on, all colors become B&W. So it means that something prevents the choice of color that I made in the color editor to be applied ( to remind, it is a local adjustment that I have as a layer).

    Thanks for help 😄

Have you tried to turn off hardware acceleration in the preferences?

I think you should try the colour editor on some other image (just as a test) not one where you are trying to change a white background - for example, just as an experiment try changing the colour of a blue sky. Does that work as expected? Because I wonder whether the problem is that a white background is not really a colour - its a mix of all of them. Also, you say that show selected colour range turns the whole image to B&W, but as far as the white background is concerned, how would you know whether it was in B&W or colour?

So my suggestion is to check whether the colour editor works as advertised for you at all. If it does, then the problem may be that you are trying to do something with it that it isn't suited to doing, and we could help you explore some other way of achieving your aim.
