Question about "Preview Image Size Preference"
Hi
My question is about "Preview Image Size Preference" (new at v5.xx)
What is correct (or greater) setup for a screen running at 1920 x 1200px?
Big numbers equals "slow" previews (after cache be generated) or just improve my "fit" size or "zoom"
I really do not understand how to setup this preference and what it does.
Thank you, Nando.

Nando,
The smaller the "Preview Size" setting the faster they should render/load but quality will be the cost. If your machine is decked out then the large settings should be fine but if your machine is a Best Buy floor model you may want to dial down that setting.0 -
What and when exactly does the quality affect the preview?
I assume it will change the first 'fit to screen' view that appears when toggling to a new image. But will it also change the quality of the 100% 1:1 pixel view? Please elaborate.
(I have a nice system, but I don't need to unnecessarily clog up my many data hard drives with large .cop files which I manually purge every month or so to keep space usage to a minimum. Oh I miss the good old days of a central single folder for preview files that could be kept on a separate HDD from my data files.)
Thanks.0 -
Alex,
100% is 100%, there is no trade off there.
The adjustment simply effects your "Fit" size and the degradation cannot be quantitatively provided. It is a matter of screen size. If you have a 30" monitor and put the Preview at the lowest size you will see the effects easily.0
