CO Seeming slow - how do I clear the cache?

CO appears to be running slow at times and I read that clearing the cache could help.

How do I go about doing this properly?

Any other tips/tricks to helping it run quicker?

Mac software - 10.12.6
CO software - 10.1.2.26

    I have no idea about a cache or clearing it.

    If you use any IPTC metadata fields, try removing the "Filters" tool from the "Libarary" tool tab.

    For 5000 images or more, and when an IPTC metadata field which is unique for every image, the Filters tool takes a long time to refresh, and does so after every keystroke.
