banding on images
Using Capture one Pro.
Please explain why banding occures on an image. It is not present on the raw file in Nikon View, nor is it present on the jpeg captured at the same time. It only appears after Capture one processes the image. Sorry I've just got a new monitor and can see everything now!

neil,
Banding occurs mostly with our Digital Backs because of the lack of noise.
The Banding suppression tool actually adds noise to reduce or eliminate this.
Banding may show on your monitor but Not show in printing.
Always use the Focus tool to best analyze the presence.
Please see Knowledge Base article #1385 for some great info on Banding
