New user Capture One LE needs help.
I'm not sure I'm understanding the filing system properly - need some guidance. I bring in my original files to c1 then trash the ones I don't want in c1 and move the ones I do want into capture, then work on them there, but this appears to affect my actual filing system in windows, not just the way the files are managed in C1. I process my images from capture and specify the file I want them to end up in, but they get put into a file within C1 - "images" and I have to then move them to my own filing sytem in windows. My original images then have to be moved back to my windows filing system from "captures" file in c1 program (which I'm assuming I can do in C1) and the ones I have trashed in C1 which are now tagged in windows - . trashed - I can then delete in windows. Is this right or have I missed something?
Once I have my processed files how do I end the session. What is delete the collection? I'm worried that as my actions in C1 appear to have a direct affect on files that I'll actually delete them off my drive.
Thanks
Jo

Jo,
Please read Knowledge Base articles # 2057 and 2058

The best advice to offer is to Keep It Simple.
The best setting to have established at the Process tab is to the Change the currren folder for Processed images… and check the Always process images to associated image folder
With this box checked, a folder name Develops is created within the Session folder along with the RAW images.
You have been processing to the Default location of Images
By checking the box to Always process images to associated image folder you will always know where they go. Once processed, the folder can be renamed, copied or moved to new location with a little File Management.
I always suggest using the default location for all your Sessions should be:
C:\\Program Files\\ Phase One\\Capture One LE\\Captures\\Your RAW Session folders
When you delete or Move to Trash an image, it goes to the Trash Session tab. It can be put back into Session or deleted permanently by either deleting from a Window all the .Trashed files or by selecting all within Trash and then clicking the Trash Icon at top which will delete all selected permanently.
When you Delete the Active Collection, it DOES NOT remove the folder of RAW images from your hard drive. It simply removes the Session Tab from Capture One.
hope this helps,

It was only when I read Jo's request for help that I realised why I couldn't create a new session as detailed in the Capture One LE documentation. The documentation refes to Capture One Pro.
Before you ask yes I have dowloaded the correct documentation 😊
Only a mini gripe but I was beginnning to think that i had spent good money on a program that wouldn't do what the documentation said it should.0
