Learning to like V4 ...
As I had a bit of spare time the other weekend I decided to have another attempt at using C1 V4. I downloaded V4.01 and installed it on a spare machine. After tearing my hair out for 30 minutes trying to drive the program I downloaded the video and sat through it. It suddenly all started to make sense.
To cut a long story short, I did a shoot on Friday using my 1Ds2 tethered to V3.7.8 on my laptop. (The Pro version of V4 seems rather long in coming!) I then transferred the RAW files to my Photoshop workstation and processed them in V4.01. It's taken a while to get used to and I've had to unlearn some things from V3 but I'm slowly coming to like V4. And it has one major advantage - it runs under 64-bit XP. At last!
Two minor gripes so far. Firstly, I can't find a way to set the order of the thumbnails. I'd like to be able to arrange them in order of rating (V3 would let you display only the tagged thumbnails) but can't see any way to change the display order at all. Secondly, what's happened to the keyboard shortcuts for exposure (Ctl +/-)? Having to use the mouse is a pain ...

Andy,
You can sort the thumbnails in the browser, however the option is often hidden in the interface. If you place the Browser below (View menu), you will immediately see the sort drop down list plus an ascend/descend option. If you place the Browser beside, you will only see this option if you make the browser a wider column than default (drag with mouse on column separator). Otherwise you will see a small triangular mark at the right of the browser column. When you click on it, it will expand into the sort list. For the record, the Mac version has a Sort option in the View menu and I asked for it in the Win version as well IIRC.
Regarding the keyboard shortcuts, many CO3.x users are missing them. Highly anticipated feature request for an upcoming release.0 -

... and not just C1 3.x users. I have come new to v4, but already make extensive use of the shortcuts that are there.
One feature I really like, however, is the fine control you get over the sliders by hovering the mouse pointer over them and scrolling the wheel.0
