I do know what Applescript is, but don't read or write it.

More important question for me is: why are you trying to use the CO catalog together with MP? Why 2 catalogs, that messes things up?

Create a session in C1. Name it.
    Close C1
    Open Media Pro
Create a catalog set and call it Capture One edits
Drag the pictures you want to edit into the catalog set.
Now click on that Catalog Set.
Right click on the photos within that set.
    Choose "Open With".
    Choose Capture One.
Now C1 should open in sessions mode allowing you to edit the pictures only in that catalog set.
The reason you want to create a catalog set is that C1 will open every photo within a catalog. You cannot pick which photos to edit within a catalog so you create a small Catalog Set just for editing purposes.
If you right click and "Open With" inside the main MP catalog, C1 will open every picture within that catalog. I don't think you would want that.

Like the others have said, keeping everything in a C1 catalog is ideal as you don't have to go through all the above steps.
But if you need MP, the suggestion above may work for you.

I replied to this question in one of your other threads, you need to use CO in session mode for the integration to work.

I beg to differ on that "ideal" account. I used to think all in one is ideal too. It's actually through my work (i'm an IT applications architect) i learned that in the long run it is actually better to have software applications focus on particular functions, in this example one focuses on DAM, the other on raw conversion.

This will become clear quite quickly when you mix in other elements, like other file formats (movies, office documents, etc.) or other processors (raw converters, noise suppression programs, stacking software, etc.). In the all in one "solution" you're much more likely stuck with what the existing converter already offers. It is likely much harder to bring in another function into your workflow.

Anyway, this is just my 2c, so obviously YMMV 😄 😄

    OK !
    i triad this method :
    1. Make Session Catalog in C1
    2. put the pictures in C1 Catalog
    3. Make new Catalog in Mp define the Picture Path to Mp
    4. inside MP open a Image with C1 function
    5. C1 pointed the Image in very fine !

    Workflow 1

    1. make changes to Image in MP like Keywords etc..
    2. go to the same Image in C1 , you don't see nothing 😕
only if you make a Manuel export from Mp to C1 then you see that . no automatically synchronize 😂

    Workflow 2

    1. open Image in C1
    2. Make your nice changes to your Image with C1
3.if you return to MP you see nothing happens 😲
only you see the original thumbnail 😂

now i am asking one Question to Phase One ❓
way i am spending hier Money for this Workflow 🤬

Well ... it's quite hard to get you on the right path, isn't it? Many people in this forum have shared with you how you would accomplish a workflow between MP and CO. You keep complaining, but you're not following their directions. Then you blame Phase One.

Why don't you read up on how to integrate MP with CO, watch the videos and get a grip on how to set the parameters in both programs to have meta data shared between the two. The thumbnail update has been discusse a lot already, apparently it doesn't work for C8.2. If you can't work around that, raise a support case.

If you've set all the parameters like described in the videos and it still doesn't work, then something is wrong, raise a support case.

It doesn't help other users much that the only thing you do here is complain how Phase One steals your money while you don't seem to want to follow instructions.

You are correct, when I said ideal, I was being photo specific.
I own Media Pro, but it renders all of my files oversaturated. So it's pretty much useless, which makes me sad. 😭
Other than that, I do agree with you. Use the right tool for the right job.
I hope that Phase One decides to give more support to Media Pro, maybe then I could use it again.

are you using Mp to C1 ❓
if yes, can you send me your Workflow and what benefited are you getting .
can you show us the video how to make this synchronising really works with C1 8 ❓

and sorry about my disappointment !

You have every right to be disappointed, but the way you express yourself is rather crude (i do understand English is not your native language, same goes for me). You could wonder why you are having these troubles by looking at yourself first, that's all i try to say.

I no longer use MP, but another DAM that works with CO in pretty much the same way. First of all, like stated before, you need to be in Session mode in CO. Further, it doesn't seem to make much sense to have your catalog in any other place than MP (so, no CO catalog, or keeping the CO session albums).

    My workflow:
    1. download pictures onto computer, in a general directory (i call it "Inbox")
    2. import pictures from Inbox in MP
    3. catalog pictures in MP, meaning, rating, keywording and putting into catalog sets
    4. if required, send selects to CO for processing
    5. once done in CO, remove session album to keep session clean
    6. back in MP, if so required, rebuild thumbnails to pick up edits (we know now this doesn't work for CO 8.2).

So, for me, there is no cataloging work at all in CO, just editing. IMHO there is also no need to do any of the keywording, star rating, etc. in CO. That is done only in MP, otherwise there would be two masters, that's unworkable.

    Hope this helps you.

    Thank you very much 😁
i started now to convert all my Images from C0 Catalog into CO8 Session Folder.
about Point (6). i am glad if Phase One do some better integration between MP and C0.8.

    thanks agin

It's always a bit tricky to advertise another product in one vendor's forums, but i've switched to photo supreme. Go over there to find out its features, but it does cope rather well with CO and CO edits, but also DxO and some others. CO needs to be in Session mode though, like it does for MP. You'll find me on those forums as well.

this way i changed to work back with catalog !

now i give up and not waisting any moor time agin , there are no good solution hier to bee found
my bee Phase One found some thing new to us 💡

    Sessions doesn't work that way.
It is meant only for a "Session" or a particular set of photos, not the entire catalog.
You wouldn't try to open your whole catalog in Photoshop, so think of it that way.

yes i understand now, thanks for your advices,
this is way i never used Session Catalog in C1
the only way that i found now to point my selected Image from MP in C1 catalog ist
the search Method 😁 yes its funny to explain but works effectively good for me 😜
    hears how :

    1. hit the Image Name Feld in MP and Copy the Date Name " CMD + C"
    2. go to C1 8.2 and point your Mouse inside the Search Feld and hit " CMD +V"

Capture One shows me exact the selected Image in the Catalog 😁
i knows that this Method write now not a profession one ist

but i hop Phase one find for uns a solution .
