IPTC/ Metadata automatic increment in tethered Modus
Hi folks,
a workflow question about tethered capture and on-set DAM:
Has anybody found a way to automatically increment the IPTC Core while shooting tethered? I know I can save a preset and apply it to a batch of files, but I'd rather take the time at the beginning of the day to set things up, and not worry about it 60GB of pictures later.
Moreover, a small bug happens when one tries to apply a preset to a batch: say you selected 158 files, and some of them already may have the presets applied to. Well, while applying twice a preset to a picture, the action cancels the first preset instead of simply ignoring the second preset. So one would have to check every file beforehand. Really??
Is it possible to handle this with Sidecars & Media Pro?
I've just downloaded Media Pro to try & find a workaround, though handling Media Pro while photographing on a busy set is not really an option for me.
Thx for your ideas!

So I had time to check Media Pro ( MP) this evening, and alas it wasn't in any way helpful.
I guess the right way for now to do this would be to shoot without worrying too much about the metadata, then once the first shot is in the box, ( move every pictures in a Favorite Folder and )apply a metadata preset to all of them, return to the capture folder in C1 and start working on Shot nº2.
Applying a Metadata preset can be done either in C1 or in Media Pro, but a way to apply Metadata presets directly on import to MP from C1 would be appreciated. This option already is available when you log Media in from Disk or Camera, but not when right clicking a raw in c1 and sending it "to MediaPro Catalog".
All in one, there's still some work. Unless one of you knows better??
OS X 10.8.5, C1 7.2.3, MediaPro 1.4.20
