So, this is what took a year to develop?
I'm totally disappointed!
Phase One took a year to develop this expensive program which only pro compared to Lightroom is thedered shooting. Everything else, Lightroom does better and faster at a fraction of the price.
COne cons:
Slow.
Lacks logic.
Cumbersome workflow.
Metadata function is almost noneexistent.
Consume harddrive space at an unbelievable rate.
Very expensive.
So therefore, I'll use COne4 to shoot thedered when that is required. For all other work, processing and administration I'll use Lightroom!
What a shame!
Disappointed, disappointed, disappointed, disappointed, disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
☹️ 😡 😭 🤬 👿

I feel the same, it's lagging so far behind LR & Aperture it's silly, in everything from functionality & interface to basic stability & speed. I wish they'd just release a tether module to those two programs and be done with it. 0 -

I was doing a bit of googeling last night and guess what I found?
They already use LR for tethered shooting! How about that!
I haven't had the time to test it out myself but here is an interesting link below

I also managed to find some camera profiles for Leica M8 which I would like to try when I get around to it.0 -

This is old news and I've been using this method for over a year. It works fine, however it's somewhat slow and you still need C1 to do the actual tethering, LR is just doing an automatic import from a watched folder.0 -
I just want to add
1. It is fast, if you meet the specs.
2. You can move around tools any way you want so you make up the workflow and logic as you please.0 -
Why does 3.7.9 run faster on my MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz 4Gb 320Gb 7200 and my work tower 3Ghz 8core MacPro 8gb RAM than Capture One 4 Pro? Yes they are both running 10.5.5 yes all the latest system and app updates are installed. Are they not upto spec? I'm not a photographer, I'm a digital Tech working in Sydney running a Rental Business I own 2 Phase One Backs and a canon Mk3. I work with a broad spectrum of photographers in fashion and advertising, all of whom refuse to use C1 pro4. If you could please reply with some use full information other that just "it is fast" because that just adds to my frustration. 0 -

Look, I love the new tabs and custom tool layouts but the response to user inputs is slow, there is no problem with my setup. Please, I know how to set up my computer, clearly something is not quite right.

Boo Hoo!
This software, although not perfect, still outperforms Lightroom and Aperature in terms of end result quality!
No matter how you look at it this is what counts, you can get better images from Capture One Hands Down.
Compare processed files of any kind, Capture One outperforms everything and thats why its still around.
And the comment about having a Cumbersome workflow is about the whiniest thing I can think of, don't blame a company because you can't figure out how to make there system work for you.
Also, consuming HD space is an advent of Digital Photography in General, not a software.
If you want to use inferior software then go for it, the Photo world won't miss you.
And Boo Hoo to you too!
You stick with C One. That's fine by me.
You could, however, save the sarkasms for a later day. There are, by measure of the various responses on this forum, a good number of people that sheer my opinions.
But then again. They are most probably idiots all of them. Like myself. And as such, the Photo world won't miss any of them. Nor me.
A great advantage to us though. Takes the pressure from our shoulders like. Nobody will ever expect nothing from us anyway.0 -

You created the post "So, this is what took a year to develop?", I'm pretty sure my sarcasm is in line with the tone of the post.
Get over it. And if you don't take yourself seriously why would you make such a fuss about a software that isn't a Life or Death influence?
What fuss? Have I made a fuss? As far as I'm concerned I've only expressed my disappointment.
However, I've basically only got myself to blame. I bought a Pro upgrade prior to the launch of C-One 4 based on a "this you can't turn down offer" from Phase One. Next two upgrades for free. Now, I've been stupid enough to buy a future product that I expected more from. My fault entirely. Buying something unseen entail a certain element of risk.
And your quite right; The issue is of no Life or Death Influence. I'm pretty much alive yet. And, I've got over it. Didn't take long at all. Just a shade pissed off for a little while.0
