Back up external drive files

    You can use time machine easily enough. Open the time machine preferences and hit the “Options...†button. It will open a box with items excluded from the back ups, and you external drives will be listed. Just remove the drives you want backed up from the list and you’re good to go.

    Yes, my TM backup includes both my local HDD and the external one on which my raw files (and iTunes library) are stored.

    I’m stupid (I appreciate not being called down)
    Right or wrong, my past recollection of TM was that it did not pick up external drives. Worse yet, I did not explore my own TM drive. My SSD was already there!
    BTW, the value of TM for local back up cannot be over stated. It has saved me many times and is effortless.
