Default lens distortion correction
From what I am aware, Capture One applies a default lens distortion correction specific to the lens used, that results in a cropped picture in the case of wide angle.
The crop is important, up to 5 % of the image in the case of a 15 mm on aps-c, and to be clear the algorithm is faulty on my lens as it crops more than necessary to compensate for the barrel distortion. So I personally prefer to keep the distortion to 0%, as it messes with my composition choices.
Having said that, I can't find a way to impose the 0% as a default on importing images (*)
I see I can save a preset to 0% but :
1) I have to impose it on every picture
2) it brings a badge "adjusted picture" which is counter-intuitive since I don't want the image to be adjusted ! And for what I've gathered so far, the badge can't be suppressed. So I'm stuck with a library where the choice is between badges everywhere or unwanted cropped pictures.
Am I missing something there?
P.S :
As an additional rationale to keep the preset to 0% as a default, I find it useful to be able to compare the pic to the jpeg provided by the camera. And I would like them to be coherent in their presentation (i. e both non adjusted for the same picture).
(*) I'm using the import Aperture catalogue function. I understand this might be different if I was using the Import Dialog, with a user preset where maybe the badge would disappear.

In the lens correction tool, you can click the ... and select to disable default lens correction. It makes no difference to images already imported, but it prevents it being applied to new imports.

Thanks. But then I loose chromatic aberration correction, which is often needed. May be worthy however, because I might have more wide angle shoots than shoots needing chromatic correction. I will have to figure this out. 0
