I'm a little confused ...
Hello,
C1 is a great tool für RAW development, I am using it mostly since the first beginnings in 1994. At this old times with the CCD back.
But in the last years C1 is making me a little confused, as I getting me to think they are using me as a beta tester by selling the software to me.
The C1 v7.2.3 is not working you can trust you don´t loose the strukture of the catalog, so I was ask by the support to go back to C1 v7.22
But C1 v7.2.2 is also crashing tooooo often during doing simple things in correction like turning the picture.
Now C1v8 is coming out, forcing me to pay an upgrade to get a stable version?
„…. engine adds several new under-the-hood improvements“…
Does this mean, I am again a beta-tester by paying the upgrade?
Ore does this mean, its a stabil C1v7.2.4?
Please excuse, but i am a little confused.
Regards
Achim

If you're having problems like this, Phase One will fix them as long as you raise a support case. Have you done so? the fact that this is now "old" software won't stop Phase One from addressing these issues.0 -
Hi, Have you done so? the fact that this is now "old" software won't stop Phase One from addressing these issues.
I did a ticket in July,- the draw back to 7.2.2 was the only solution the support had for me at the beginning of August.
They would be working on a update - coming soon ...
I am testing v8 as a update for shure.0 -

We are, and it is.
Sorry if you feel like a Beta Tester. You're not.
We have hundreds and they helped make Capture One 8 a great release.
We're still developing for Capture One 7. Thanks for your patience.0 -
I am sorry, but tell me PhaseOne does not treat their customers as beta tester, look at the CRAP that was 7.0.0. 7.2.X is now working good for me, and after seeing (In My Opinion) 8.0, is a upgrade that until I need to use it for a new camera is not needed. Look at the Heal/Clone brush, looks like it was a check box that was "NEEDED", it is a total joke, I mean one source vector for an entire layer. The Nikon 810 "fully supported" features that are not there. Still no way to do a round trip to an external editor.
I am not saying that everything is bad, but does not look like it should of been a full release, to me they should of just called it 7.3.

yes i am one of the people how bayed tow version in one month and allso verry angray about this behaver to the costumers,
just look in Web you will find allout aboute this desaster, big Software Developers Company are using this method since long time they are traing to develop with your feed back money, i thing C8 schould'nt been relased untel it is well complitly good testet , but what cann i say 😕
iam shour that the Worker at Phase one are doing really good and hard job , but iam shour allso that the investers are making this Image running crasy, the same thing every wear, very bad management strategy 😁
at the end ask yourself why C1 💡
and hop you andestand my englisch hear 🤭0 -
I am often frustrated with Phaseone, but they are not different from any other developer out there. In real world, it is not an easy task to have a stable computer, with stable os, and stable C1 and Photoshop, so when I achieve that I tend to stay put.
And notice that I wrote stable and not rock solid ....
What I don't get though is the feature development, I don't care about the "improved tools" that behave almost the same, neither do I care that much about some "new" feature like Clarity that introduces so many artifacts, I care about the "BROKEN" Levels tool, and the "broken" Rename tool (well they fixed that in C1 7.x, just to introduce the "broken" Move tool), I care about the "broken" QuickProof processing and still wondering why the Naming Format window keeps crashing C1 every other time, since C1 4.x through all the versions I have tested on all the different systems.
I hope the subscription model will put more emphasis on the existing clients and respect to their existing workflows.
I will take WORKING tools instead of NEW tools everyday of the week.
