Digital Asset Management when converting from Aperture
I am trying to decide upon the best way to keep track of my files if I convert from Aperture to C1.
While RAW conversion with Aperture is not as good as C1 in my opinion, I have gotten used to it as a digital asset manager.
I do my initial editing and selection using Aperture, and when I finally have narrowed down to my select images for a project I import them into Capture One and do my edits and file conversions in Capture One.
While Capture One seems to offer a far amount of power as a digital asset manager, I don't think it is as strong as Aperture.
Perhaps that is only because my use of Capture One has been too limited.
Would a work flow that involved importing and editing in Capture One, and then using Media Pro as my master image and project catalog be a workable replacement for using Aperture as a digital asset manager?
It seems to me that approach has the potential of being more powerful, with the downside of being more complex.
I would be interested in the experience of anyone who has tried that or who has been a steady user of Media Pro.
Thanks for any insights.

I used to use Aperture as my "everything" program but now I have switched over to C1. C1 is OK for bare-bones digital asset management. You can create albums, folders, groups, etc. Maybe that is enough for basic storage and sorting.
I would like to go beyond that basic functionality but I don't think I will find it in C1. One idea that has floated around is to export your final images in TIFF and import them into something like Photos. So, C1 for "negatives" and Photos for "prints".0 -
That is one of the things I am thinking about as well.
At this point photos lacks the ability to move images around or to point photos to a new directory if one mirrors a portable external drive to a NAS or desktop external drive.
While it makes sense that at some point Photos would harness the power of the Finder it is unclear how sophisticated Apple wants to make the photos app.
Time will tell.0
