Digital Asset Management when converting from Aperture

I used to use Aperture as my "everything" program but now I have switched over to C1. C1 is OK for bare-bones digital asset management. You can create albums, folders, groups, etc. Maybe that is enough for basic storage and sorting.

I would like to go beyond that basic functionality but I don't think I will find it in C1. One idea that has floated around is to export your final images in TIFF and import them into something like Photos. So, C1 for "negatives" and Photos for "prints".

That is one of the things I am thinking about as well.
At this point photos lacks the ability to move images around or to point photos to a new directory if one mirrors a portable external drive to a NAS or desktop external drive.
While it makes sense that at some point Photos would harness the power of the Finder it is unclear how sophisticated Apple wants to make the photos app.
    Time will tell.
