Nikon D810 autofocus support for tethered shooting live view
Hello,
I've bought Capture One 8 half a year ago as tethering and live view support for Nikon D810 was stated in the "supported camera list". But there was no hint that auto focus is not supported. Thus I wasted a nice amount of money as Capture One can just be used as RAW processor and I had to buy Nikon's Capture Control Pro software.
But as Capture One 9 has been released some time ago, I'm wondering whether auto focus support for Nikon D810 has been implemented yet?
Thank you.

There was AF support in CO8 as well. Remember to engage the AF drive.
CO9 also has this.
Remember there is a 30 day trial for you to play with.0 -
Thank you for your response.
I'd like to quote my tech case (case ID) input here:Dear Phase One team, we are using CO 8.3.4 with a Nikon D810 and a 60mm Nikkor Macro lens, set to autofocus. In live view we can't use focus metering, the is an error prompt telling me "focus metering is not supported for this camera model". Is that really true? Is autofocus not supported for that camera? I've checked a couple of settings but found no solution that worked out. Thank you
The response from the support team was:
Hi
This is correct, this feature is not supported with this camera model.
Kind Regards
Phase One support
This means that either of you have wrong information.
And thanks for the hint with the trial version, but the computer using Capture One is currently at a remote location and I'm worried that a trial version of CO 9 could somehow affect the existing CO 8 installation.0 -
The supporter might have misunderstood your question and hence give incorrect information.
I cannot test with the lens you are using, but using a 50 mm 1.4G, the focus buttons in Live View works in both directions. This goes for 8.3.4 and 9.x0 -
Thank you for your response.
But I'm wondering if we're really talking about the same stuff.
With "focus buttons" I understand the ones labeled with < << >> > for manual focussing. And of they work fine of course. I'm still curious if autofocus works.0 -

Focus metering doesn't seem to work (got same message you got), but autofocus does work. You just can't engage it with a (software) button and the button on the camera won't work.
When you take the shot, the lens will be autofocused.
CO9.1 on OSX 11.40 -

This sounds interesting. I'll give it a try with CO 8.3.0 -
I've tested it the way you've suggested, but it doesn't work either.
And it's the same with CO 9.1...a bit embarrassing.0
