CS2 Conversion

When i have done my adjustments in C1 and transfer to CS2 the image looks nothing like it did in C1 colour and contrast wise, am i doing something wrong, when i use ACR the image is spot on with the Canon software its not far off either.

    Check that colour managment is turned on in Capture One and that Capture One is using system monitor profile.

    with the colour managment turned off I get a better match but still a bit out. I am using the monitor profile I have the camera set as 1DSMK11 and output to Adobe RGB but when the image comes up in Photoshop it lacks colour and contrast and needs work it makes the ajustments I do in C1 pointless any more thoughts ❓ I tried to download the colour managment sheet but could not find it with the link provided.

    andy - did you try your color mgmt settings in pshop? Check those, also when you open the file in pshop do you have it set to use the exissting profile or change to working space? Another thing to check is your default view proof settings in pshop, they can throw you off too.

    Hi David yes I have my colour managment set in Photoshop to Adobe RGB the same as C1. When you convert your imagies into Photoshop do display as they did in C1 ❓

    hi - i dont have any problem seeing in PS very similar color to what I put together in C1. Did you try deleting the Adobe1998 profile and reinstalling? dave.

    Hi David I think I have it cracked. I opened a file into Photoshop then went back to C1 and tweaked the profile with the colour editor to match what I saw in Photoshop (less saturation) then saved this as a profile which I wll use with this camera, I am now getting a very good match with the colour managment turned on. Many thanks for your help 😄

    I have exactly the same problem. It looks like software bug in Capture One (may be duble profiling or so on).

    The most common reason for a color mismatch between Capture One and Photoshop is not Soft Proofing with the exact same color profile.
    The exact same profile must be set in each software or the comparison is Apples to Oranges. 🤓
    The default color space in Photoshop soft proofing is CMYK, so you would see a dramatic difference.

    Thank you very much for reply.

    Really, there is NO color mismatch between Capture One and Photoshop in case of I choose \"Monitor RGB\" proof preset in photoshop. The color mismatch still exists if proof colors in photoshop are switched off.

    According to photoshop documentation:
    \"Monitor RGB creates a soft proof of colors in an RGB document using your current monitor color space as the proof profile space. This option assumes that the simulated device will display your document WITHOUT using color management\"

    It means that my copy of Capture One displays the picture in the same way as would my monitor display it in case I switched color management off.

    Does it mean that Capture One ignores my monitor profile?

    The problem were in Windows XP settings:

    In \"Control Panel -> Display -> Setting -> Advanced -> Color Management\" two monitor profiles were present

    Windows applications probably use two of them but not only the profile marked as \"default\".

    After removing the extra color profile colors in Capture One and Photoshop are the same.

    How can windows use 2 monitor profile when by default it choses only 1 amongst all that you have added. Only 1 can be use at a time !

    Shurely Windows must use only one \"default\" ICC monitor profile. But it is not enough: there are also a RAW conversion application and an application that used for image displaying. To show the same colors both applications must use the same monitor profile and additionally must use the same color space (usually incorporated to the image file). Not all applications do it correctly in all situations.
