Hit cmd + cursor key to navigate through the images when you are in the viewer window.

I'm not sure I understand what the cursor key is? Thanks.

Cursor keys are 'Left Arrow", "Right Arrow", "Up Arrow" and "Down Arrow".

So "CMD + 'Left Arrow' " will take you to the next picture.

"CMD + 'Right Arrow'" will take you to the previous picture.

Additionally, there doesn't seem to be a way to export my customized shortcuts. Do I really need to go through and set them all up individually a second time on my laptop?

No, you can copy your keyboard shortcuts easily to another computer (or make a backup). You can find them in:
    <user>/Library/Application Support/Capture One/KeyboardShortcuts/<your-custom-name>.plist

A general remark regarding your frustrations, as I read that word regularly in your post.

Frustrations are often part of the process of migration. Once you start thinking from the new program (Capture One) and stop thinking from Aperture while in Capture One, your frustration diminishes significantly.

Thanks Paul. That's what I was looking for. I'm getting close to getting it customized to the way I like things.

I agree about the frustration part. I've been managing a lot of images for a lot of years using Aperture and it's second nature for me to do whatever I want. When you start using a new app even the simplest things slow you down. I'm starting to get my head around CO and will get back up to speed eventually. Thanks again for your help.

I'm another Aperture user switching to CO and reading this forum (and taking notes). Can someone answer the first question? CO imports Aperture images but they reside in the Aperture library. Therefore I shouldn't add to the Aperture library. I understand that. How about Photostream/Aperture? Should I break the connection between Aperture/Photostream?

Also, once Apple disappears Aperture in some future OS update will CO still be able to get at the images inside the Aperture library? Will CO provide a way to migrate orphaned Aperture librarie into a CO catalog?

I've articulated my experience along with some of the gotchas of importing an Aperture Library to C1 here...
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.ph ... stcount=40

    Some notes:
    - Copies of your some of your recent Photostream and iCloud shared photos reside in your Aperture Library and will come across as well unless you sever ties with iCloud in Aperture prior to the import and delete those projects
    - You can move images from your managed Aperture Library to the C1 Catalog by dragging and dropping in the folders area of Capture One... this moves the photos, not copies so only do this if you have a backup of your Aperture library and/or don't need to open them in Aperture anymore. But this is a good way to move your images and sever ties and dependencies on the Aperture Library.

Thanks, VirtualRain. I read your post over at Macrumors and you're several steps ahead of me in this transition to CO. I was about to delve into customizing my workspace and your screenshots will be a great help. Thanks.

    Hi Richard,

I'm a long time Aperture user that is also trying to come to grips with Capture One. Any chance you want to share those Aperture keyboard shortcuts you've made?
