Newbie question

I just got the trial version of C1 so I am trying to do some comparisons. I heard claims that images processed in C1 had more detail. So far I can't see any thing better in C1 than what I see in Canon RAW.

So now the questions. Is there a "newbie forum"?

  My chance to chime-in here I suppose... No sales hat on, just personal experience and tech support perspectives... 😉
  There are 2 main reasons Capture One is always at the top in RAW workflow program comparisons -
  #1 Image Quality
  #2 Workflow Efficiency
  
  Many believe Color Management belongs here too.
  
  A local commercial photographer shooting the 5D as well, shared that he gave other programs an honest chance and all fell way short of Capture One's Color Management capabilities. This includes the most recent software versions available.
  
  I personally witnessed a 'shoot out' of sorts at a camera dealer in Denmark last winter with the Canon 5D.
  A still life image that included test charts and currency was captured, RAW files were processed in 4 different programs, and then large prints were made on an Epson printer.
  There was a distinct difference in color accuracy and fine image details with Capture One standing clearly superior with both.
  
  Canon makes great cameras, but mediocre software for RAW processing.
  I always suggest one compare and test themselves before making a decision on which program to go with.
  Be aware some have compared and chose the Faster one.
  Capture One has a choice of processing.
  An algorithm built for speed is found in the QuickProofs tool which is the fastest of all.
  The standard Process algorithms are the most sophisticated there are, and has image Quality as the priority.
  As far as intuitive, each user has their own opinion on this.
  What we do hear mostly is that it is quite intuitive.
  Capture One was created with much input from professional photographers worldwide well before most other RAW workflow programs.
  Yes, Capture One is more expensive than other programs, but you indeed do get what you pay for.
  Many studios firmly believe it pays for itself in no time.
  No longer does one need 3 or 4 programs to get the desired results.
  
  In the film days you wanted the best from your camera.
  This meant using a film you had confidence in to get the best image quality and look you were after.
  For RAW data processing, it is Capture One that allows your camera to achieve its potential with consistently accurate and efficient results.
  Tether the 5D and make it even more efficient. 😄
