COP Adding my full name as keyword by itself!
Hello,
I am importing some JPG and DNG files into COP 8.
There are NO XMP sidecar files for these images.
I have metadata and keywords stored inside the files only.
COP is set to "Load" metadata only, NOT sync.
When loading metadata for these files COP AUTOMATICALLY adds a keyword for my full name WITHOUT my doing
and it only does this for CERTAIN images seemingly at random.
If I reimport the same images from scratch it stills does this.
If I start with a fresh catalog and reimport the same images it still does this.
AGAIN, there are NO keywords with my full name, NOT in the images files and NOT in XMP files either.
I realize these are old files and have been using NEF files for several years now BUT there is no reason for COP
to not support keyboarding for JPG and DNG files and to add keywords by itself willy nilly.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Mike

Is there any connection between the files that are allocated the name keyword? Same camera for example? Anything at all?

Mike,
Can you explain what you mean with the quoted text? What action do you perform? I asks this because CO8 loads metadata automatically on import.0 -
So Capture One DOES have a feature that allows you to assign metadata upon importing images. Two spots actually.
Check it:

If you don't have copyright info, or a style/preset being applied upon import then chances are pretty solid that your name is somewhere in the embedded metadata before you're running the C1 import.
Some DSLRs have an option in the camera menu system that allows you to add the author's name as part of the embedded metadata. Could this have perhaps been something that was setup on the camera you created those older files with?
One possible experiment to run would be to copy the image files (no sidecars) to their own directory, then spin up Bridge to review the metadata before you launch Capture One. Just be sure to enable all of the metadata columns for the sake of being thorough.0
