Editing Metadata/ Keywords

    Hi
I'm also a converter from Aperture. The way I'm removing (or add) keywords is like this:
    - Select one image, that will act like a "template" for my keywords.
    - Remove old keywords (added in Aperture), change or/add new keywords

With this image selected, I shift-click on the other images that should have the same keywords (make sure the icon for "edit selected variants" is on)

    - then shift-click on the double-arrow in the Metadata titlebar.

Now, all of the selected images should have the same keywords

    Regards, Magnus

Thanks, I am well aware of that procedure. What I mean is, how to delete the same keyword from a bunch of images. Up to now, there is no such feature. Which is a good evidence for the poor metadata handling features in C1.

Sorry, at this time this is not possible.
We'll look into it for the future.

It's one of the features that would make the whole image management side much more useable than it is now.

I couldn´t agree more. If we were able to mix the sophisticated DAM-part of Aperture with the RAW-processing quality of C1, we would have the perfect RAW-Software. Let´s hope, that the guys at phaseone get the message from the switching Aperture community. C1 needs a big kick, if it comes to the DAM-part. Just remember the preview mode ("P") of Aperture or the direct check between the original and the adjusted image ("M"). Last but not least the overall superior speed and performance of the Aperture interface. But let´s face it, Apple kicked us in the a..!

We have no option, instead of switching to a new RAW-processor. Time will tell, if C1 was the best horse to get on.

Hence the interest in an Aperture/Catapult/C1 workflow at the moment.

I can only agree to what you say regarding DAM.

Even though I use C1 now since one year (first C1E, now C1P), I've never became warm with it's DAM as it's so different to how Apple handles such features in iPhoto or Aperture. Using a separate software like Media Pro is no real option for me.

    1) I would expect at least a minimized way to add metatags, like it's possible in almost any other converter software today.

    2) What's also not nice is the options you have to name your images when importing them. Ever tried to name them YYYY-MM-DD_imagename, sorting them to dedicated folders based upon the date the photo was taken (and not when it was imported) when importing them? It's no fun at all and has the flexibility of an amboss. Where is the bus with the people being interested in when a photo was imported? 😉 It's more important to know when the photo was done, isn't it?
