Jean1... I'm running 7.1.3 and I see the "rule of thirds".

I'm assuming you mean when you hit the "Show Grid Guides" Icon in the upper right corner of the screen or go to Edit> Show Grid & Guides.

Check your Preferences. Click on the Crop Icon on top of the Preferences dialog box. Check what you have in "Show Grid". I have "2" in each of the Horizontal and Vertical boxes and "Show Grid" has "When Grid & Guides On".

If I understood your question right, that should do it for you.

Thanks Phil, I should have been able to work it out myself !

Not a problem Jean, we all run into situations where we don't see the obvious sometimes and you're welcome.

I should mention for future readers of this thread, that I believe the grid default color is white (at least I think it was for me). If you don't see the grid on your screen, try changing the grid color box to a darker color such as red or black.

Come to think of it, I wish we had an option in Preferences to allow us to adjust the thickness of the grid and guides.
