capture 4 activation
This is the first time on the forum. I recently purchased an M8, which came with caputre 4 and key codes. Originally I had purchased a camera and the disk would not activate because the key codes were wrong. Now I can't activate be "creation of the key code failed". I have tried everything, but the support system is terrible. I have a PC. Everthing support has suggested, doesn't make sense. I am extremely frustrated! I have never had this much problem downloading software. I'm beginning to think it's not worth it.
I could use some help if anyone has experienced the same problems.

Firstly, I'm afraid you are in the wrong forum. The LE version which came with your M8 is 3.7.?, and this is the forum for version 4. The activation systems for the two versions are very different, and version 4 users like myself are unlikely to be able to help.
The support system for C1 is not, in my experience, 'terrible', but it is rather bureaucratic. Basically, using the code that came with your disc, you should be able to register with Phase One and raise a support case. The procedure is described on this page. In the support case, describe the sequence of events in as much detail as possible, so that staff can diagnose where you went wrong.
Once you raise a case, PO staff do usually do their best to help. I hope that this gets your problem sorted.0 -
DavidB, I think that we can't rule out the possibility that recent Leica M8 purchases contain CO4 instead of CO3.7.x LE that came with the camera initially and that the original poster was in the right forum after all. 0 -
Thanks, Paul. I thought that only LE was bundled with the M8. Even so , I reckon that the advice would be the same.
The 'wrong license code' bit has been puzzling me. Could an LE licence code have been issued with a v4 install disk, I wonder?0 -
I fully agree with your advise David to the original poster to open a support case. Every now and than a key seems to be invalid. Several reasons might cause such inconvenience like a firewall setting to name one. 0 -
