Portraits flipped and cropped

A very strange thing has happened. On one batch of raw files, the images that are in portrait mode get flipped 90 degrees and cropped when I send them to photoshop. So if I have an image that is set at 8" wide by 12" high at 255 ppi, when it opens in photoshop, I have a canvas of those dimensions but the image is sideways, zoomed and cut in half. It only happens on one group of images and it doesn't happen in ACR.I am using a 10d and C1 3.7.1 . Any ideas?
