Processing gear on thumbnails disappears?
Just wondering..in previous CO versions once i processed a file the processing gear showed up on the thumbnail and stayed there..it was helpful to me as to tell me which files i had processed...
with CO 8 i see that the gear appears as the file is being processed but then disappears...is this normal behaviour or am i missing something here..
I am using Win 7 64 bit 32GB ram
thanks

Hi Stan,
Tricky one to answer.
Something odd happened at some point in V7 as I recall. V8 seems to be the same.
Sometimes the post-processing white gearwheel stays and sometimes it disappears. I'm not sure what the pattern is to make it respond like that - either way.
Moreover I'm not sure how useful the symbol is historically. At the point of processing a first batch or when organising some output groupings it is not always useful since there is no way to tell from the thumbnail which process(es) has(have) been run.
So - fantastically useful sometimes, hardly any use at all at other times. In my experience.
On that basis and writing personally I'm not too worried whether it "works" (whatever it is supposed to do) or not. However it would be useful to know what is intended for the function in the code in order make some sort of assessment about its usefulness and, perhaps, how it might be improved in the future.
HTH.

Stan, what you are seeing is an indication that the underlying SQLite database has gone pearshaped. Other information in it may have been corrupted as well.
You can no longer trust the results when searching for your processed images.
Also you may no longer be able to see (Adjustments/Process History) to which output folder you processed your images.
I hope you find a way to deal with this.
Cheers,

Mogens,
You could be right but the results seem random and I have not experienced any other issues with aspects of processing in any sessions that appear to fail to retain (sometimes) whether an image has been processed for output. I base that on the experience of editing many thousands of file in a large number of sessions using V7 over the past 2 years.
Currently I have one exclusive V8 session in testing and so far that seems to be retaining the "processed" white gear wheel symbol for the most recent mass output process I have run.
