    Hi Urukhai,
Same problems and more. I wrote and nobody answered. It appears that C1 has become the first product of sub beta quality to be sold at full price. I would say, it is a shame. A strong word? Let P1 soft engineers finish the coding and I shall apologize.

I have exactly the same problem 1: "out of memory" again and again with v6.1!
Is there another solution than returning to v6.0.1?

    Hello,

same problems since updated from v5.1 Pro to v6.1 Pro! The version 6.0.1 was much more stable, but the performance was a little bit bad.

I can edit only 1 picture with the new v6.1, then it runs out of memory and hangs in the task-manager (Win7, 32bit, 8GB RAM with memory-mapping, nVidia GTX 450, before ATI Radeon HD5670). No problems with v5.1pro on the same machine since months.
Some problems with v6.0.1, but I can edit much more pictures, so I still working with this version.

Every problem that appears I open a support-case with a monitor-hardcopy as attachment. The highest core of "out-of-memory-windows" is 4, seen today while try v6.1 once more as described vom PhaseOne as answer in a support-case.

This whole introduction of C1 6 was flawed. The initial marketing of the features of the Express version contained numerous errors; the initial release contained many bugs, and many of those bugs remain. EM2, a major element in my workflow, still doesn't communicate with C1 6. All of this is unlike the "old" C1
It appears to me that Marketing pushed for an expedited release before all the testing was done so as appear to catch up to the newest Lightroom. And senior management let it happen.

With 6.1 32-bit express WinXP I have been getting 'out of memory' error dialog box, then crash, after I have to kill the process manually. v6 has been nothing but frustration for me, I've spent more time dealing with crashes and support cases with 6 than I have been able to work on images.

I also see memory issues with 6.1x64. It seems there's some sort of memory leak.
On a system with 2GB ram and W7x64, using 5.2 pro my system never uses more than 65% RAM.
6.1x64 quickly devours RAM, RAM usage on my system going up to 95% when browsing through image folders.

Until P1 fixes this problem, I can once again recommend using CleanMem. Use at your own risk, of course, but I have not run into any negative effects after several months of using this great little app.
CleanMem can put an icon in the task bar showing memory use, and can free memory from "memory hogging" software. (you can assign a keyboard hotkey that triggers this cleanse).
When using 6.1 Pro, if you trigger CleanMem before memory runs dangerously low, you should not run into freeze and crash issues.

    Cheers, Jon.

Thank you for all those replies. I can only wish P1 good luck. If they continue to release crap software like v6.1, we customers would simply request a refund and then switch to their competitors. 🤬

I just got a note from PO that they have identified issues with the 32-bit version that will be 'remedied shortly.' Hopefully shortly is not the 48 days it took to 'fix' a different memory issue in 6.0.1

I have been getting the "Out of memory" too and sometimes "Please restart Program" .

This is so disappointing. v6 has been unusable for me since the initial release due to (confirmed) memory issues resulting in frequent crashes. Lets hope the fourth try is the charm.

I have reverted to C1 6.01 as I can't process anything in 6.1 because of the out of memory error.

My second problem of spiking CPU usage by services.exe also occurs in 6.01. 👿

However I found out today that it was related to the tethered Support in the preference. When I cleared all the checkboxes , the CPU utilization of services.exe droped back to very low level. Obviously C1 is constantly polling for tethered device and this takes up huge amount of CPU.

If you don't use the tether support, you better clear all the checkboxes. 😉

Could it be that the process name is CaptureProcess.exe (just for the record, your tip to uncheck camera support in preferences is valid anyway).

I too get the "Out of memory" "Please restart Program" regularly. Very frustrating.

    That was really terrible. 🤬
I read somewhere that P1 has identified the cause of memory leaks. How come 6.1.1 fails again. Don't P1 staff has a 32bit Windows PC or more than 5 mins to test the software before releasing it. 🙄
