Why CO 12 runs soooo slooow
Have re organized my pictures with Capture One 12, saving files on a NAS and database in my computer, a last model iMac 27". The problem is the software runs so slow that becomes unusable. Instead of working with my iages the only thing I can do is watching the runing disco in the screen turning and turning. And only have 5000 images in RAW format. If this is the performance of a professional software...
How can I get CO working properly? Even Apple's Photos is running faster

Does it run that slow if the images are not on NAS? Try creating a small test catalog with images on the internal drive, or on an external (not NAS) drive. People have generally reported that C1 doesn't much like NAS, though I think some have made it work. Anyway, if it is OK when the images are not on NAS, you will have identified the problem, and can come back here for advice on how to make it work for you with NAS. (I don't use NAS myself, so I can't really comment beyond that.)

I am facing similar problem. I am using late 2014 MacBook Pro running Catalina, with Synology DS916+. C1 runs fast when saving files on local storage, while when photos are on NAS it is extremely slow and sometimes NAS just disconnects. I tried both SMB and AFP, still the same. I also tried both wired and wireless connections, no difference. Apart from C1, NAS is usually lightning fast. Did anyone manage to deal with this? Could there be some work around I am not aware of?

For one thing CO12 does not yet support Catalina. But the next version of Capture One will, and shouldn't have these problems. Since Phase One have already started advertising Capture One 20, I guess that it will be available before the end of November. 0
