Same problem here. The only way I can now invert negative images is to use an earlier version and save the crossed over histogram points as a named style for example "negative" then go find the so named style file and copy it then paste into the style folder for C1 6.1. After this "negative" will appear in the drop down style list. A pain in the a... but it can be done.

I can see the same effect - as soon as the input (bottom) white and black point markers cross over I get either all black or all white - except for black point = 255 and white point = 0 in which case it works correctly.

If the black point value is less than the white point value all works as you would expect.
If the black point value is greater than the white point value but the white point is not 0, then I get 255,255,255.
If the black point is greater than the white point value but less then 255 and the white point = 0, then I get 0,0,0.

This appears to be a Capture One issue to me.

Try to move your HDR Shadow Slider to 0.
This has been reported as a bug and is being investigated, until then the above suggestion should resolve the issue.

    Drew,
Thank you for the tip. It does not work.

Works for me Drew. But a dedicated negative/invert option would be so so useful.

If you have CO Pro 6, a style or preset could perhaps do that trick for you.

You've not read my earlier post Paul.
I'm already going down the styles route. But before Drews tip I was having to create the style in a pre 6.1 version then moving it into the 6.1 installation.
This is all a very poor workaround because having used the levels points to do the inversion other controls are now reversed for example exposure and brightness.
Since your post I've also discovered that moving the clarity slider into a minus value also causes a complete whiteout.
All we need is a simple invert tick box that inverts all colours then all other controls can be used as intended. Other applications manage this simple task so I'm sure P1 will soon.

With the HDR shadow slider set to 0, the crossed over levels method of producing a negative images works only if the levels input white and white points are set to 0 and 255 respectively. I can also confirm the point about negative clarity sliders making it fail.

Thus to get a negative image I must have:

Levels Input white point set to 0
Levels Input Black point set to 255
HDR shadow slider set to 0
Clarity slider set to 0 ord greater.
