Brushes and Local Adjustments
Hi, I'm new to to Capture One Pro (part of the Aperture diaspora), I'm making good progress with the tool, I like it very much - a few details here escape me yet.
1) Brush size adjustments: the brush size many times does not show as a circle while setting it and when using it.
When setting, it is sometimes a circle, sometimes as cross hairs, some times as a number only
When using it, many times the size is not indicated at all, sometimes shows as a circle and sometimes as crosshairs.
Is there a rule or method to this, is there a way of controlling how the brush size is shown?
2) Many adjustments are local (shown by the tiny little brush next to the name) others not. Is there a list that indicates which adjustments are local and which are not? I note that curves, levels and HDR adjustments are not local. I assume (hope) this is a work in progress, as time goes on more adjustments will become available locally.
Technical Details: Mac i5 with 12GB RAM, Panasonic .rw2 files from DMC-GX7, operating Capture 1 Pro 7.22 in Catalog mode

1. The "+" will only show when the brush is larger than the viewer Zoom level or too small for the Zoom level. Any other render of the icon we would be happy to investigate further with a Support Case.
2. The default tools on the Local Adjustments Tab are all the Local Adjustments. As we are still developing Capture One, everything can be considered a work in progress 😉0 -
Hi Drew
Nice to hear it is a work in progress, I purchased a licence last night.
Regarding the brush cursor, I see that when it gets small it gets replaced by cross hairs, that makes sense.
But when I make it larger and the diameter is still quite small compared to the window (not even 1/10th) it disappears. If I understand your explanation correctly, that sounds premature.
I find myself drawing unneeded strokes, just to see how big the brush is - and can easily fit the brush in the window. It's quite awkward.0 -

What happens if you right click and look at the tool settings?
So long as you know how far you are zoomed in or out at the time the existence of a cross should rapidly give you a clue as to what is happening.
Unless things work differently on Mac compared to Windows (which is where I operate.)

I just activated, and installed 7.23, and the problem has disappeared. Guess I wasn't the first to find this bug. 0 -
Can you please create a support case and perhaps provide us with a Screen Recording of this occurring? 0 -
I would willingly create a support case, but with the problem now gone in 7.23, its not possible to provide a screen record (unless I go back to 7.22).
If I ever see it again, I will immediately do so.0
