Try modify the radius, try the type "Spot" instead of "Dust". Dust appears to work more sublte then Spot. An alternative is to create a local adjustment layer of type "Heal" and a soft brush.

The selected spot is active and stays orange. The area under the spot is not changed (so you can see what it is ...)

Move to another spot and the circle will change to white and the adjustment will be applied for spot that was Orange.

    HTH.

    Hi Grant,

It doesn't work that way for me, the spot/dust under the orange circle is also removed. I thought the significance of the orange colour was just to indicate which one would be affected by changes made in the Spot Removal tool?

Have read the help which says "-" mark button removes the dust. However it removed orange circle, not the dust itself.

The wording of the help is not very clear here. If you have several spots or dust marks, the - control removes the active spot or dust adjustment, not the spot or dust mark. So maybe you removed 4 spots, then decided to not remove one of them. In the tool in the details tab, you can choose which one to work with (1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc). The one you choose on the list gets highlighted in orange in the image. Clicking on the - sign removes the correction of that particular spot.

You should find, as soon as you click on a spot, provided that you have got the radius of the removal tool about right, the blemish disappears immediately.

If you are having trouble with getting it to work, try switching between spot and dust to see whether that makes a difference.

Thanks everyone. The "Spot" option worked well.
    The 'LocalAdjust/Heal" also works.
    Thanks again. Tak
