Can no longer export annotations
Suddenly MP is not exporting annotations, something I've done countless times before. The action log simply says "Failed to export annotations" with no further information. I tried relaunching, different catalogs, different files that worked before, unchecking different include boxes in the export dialog, all with no luck. I haven't tried destroying my preference files, which I'm really loathe to do. Is there anything else I can't try?

On windows you could try starting the application as administrator (right click)...

Repair permissions in Disk Utility?0 -
Repairing permissions didn't help. Anyway the file is not on my boot drive and Disk Utility doesn't repair permissions there. Also I was able to use the MP image editor to modify my files just fine, so it's not a permissions problem.
I tried deleting all the MP-related files I could find in /Library/Preference, /Library/Caches, and reinstalled the application from the latest dmg file. Still, the same behavior.
Is MP using some service outside the application itself to write the annotations? I tried writing annotations to the same files using two other applications and could import those annotations into MP with no problem.0 -
Wow, I am stunned. I know for sure the annotations were not written on my first attempt, because I didn't see them in other software that opened the files. That's the whole reason I looked at the activity log in the first place, as I don't normally open that window.
But just now after the reinstall and all the work I mentioned above, I checked the files again and the annotations are indeed exported! This, despite my continuing to get "Failed to embed annotations" message for every file.
So I suppose the only bug is that I'm getting the failure messages in the log despite the fact that it is working fine. I guess it's not a big deal, except that now I have to be suspicious because I can't trust the log.0 -
I've also received that message but usually just on a minority of files. Then when I check those files reported in the Action Log I DO see the metadata I care about. I have often wondered what exactly isn't being exported. I suppose I could figure it out with EXIF Tool. 0
