Problems with Sessions and Media Pro
I am a recent convert to Capture One/Media Pro, I'm still in the trial phase but I am getting the hang of it slowly! This is how I am using the software at the moment but I have a few issues with it.
I want to use Media Pro due to its superior cataloging capabilities so I thought I dont need to use the catalogues in CO. So I created a Master Catalogue in Media Pro and imported a couple of the Sessions using the Import Items command in the file menu in Media Pro. Everything just came in perfectly but I thought I would try an few things out before importing everything else.
So I thought I would edit an image with the "Open in" command to see how that would work. I think that a different Session was active in CO during this process and the session might have got corrupted as I can only see about 3 images out of 40 when I open the session but all the images and visible in Media Pro. I delete the cof & cop files and tried recreating the session file but its still the same.
Any suggestions, I'm getting a bit irritated with this now! And I don't want to keep going with importing the rest of my library if I can't work out how to fix this when it goes wrong.
Thanks in advance!

The Session and the Media Pro catalog are separate.
Media Pro has a preview of the images and even if the original image is missing you can see the preview.
As long as the original files remain in the original location there is nothing to "fix" in Media Pro.
If the images moved you can relocate them using the find missing files feature and the update their new location.
So I assume you really want to fix the session.
There are several parts to the session structure, the database and the capture one folder, and the selects output and trash folders. Then the actual photo files are in the main directory that matches the name of the session.
I just recreated a session by deleting the cosessiondb and the capture one folders so there was just the main folder with the image files.
Then I created a new session with the same name (and location) as the main folder. This recreated the deleted DB and capture one folders.
Next I selected the image files (in finder) and dragged and dropped them into Capture one session window.
Now all the images are back in the session and I can edit them as needed.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for taking the time to respond. I tried that and it didn't work. I tried making a new session in a different location and then copying the image and xmp files to the new directory and then dragging them from finder onto the session window and it still didn't work. I can see all the image files in the finder and xmp files but they just dont seem to get recognised by Capture One. I'm clearly doing something wrong I just wish I knew what.
Thanks
