    The offline state means that the catalog does not have a proper link between the adjustments/preview of the image in the catalog and the original file outside the catalog (on you external disk).

    To reestablish the link, you can do the following.

    First, assure your external disk is online, connected and accessible from the computer.
    Next, in Capture One, go to the Library tool. In the Folders section below, expand the disk item, and optionally the folder item.
    Third, right-click on the disk item (optional on the folder item) and select Locate. In the dialog, browse to your external disk with the images. This should relocate them and make your image in online state. It helps to close and reopen the catalog to speed up the process.

    If this does not help for all images, repeat the process for other disks or folders.

    Note that in offline state no information like adjustments are lost, only the reference to the original file (which is necessary to process your images, among other things).
