Could Mojave has to do anything with this? Had the setup worked in the fast (same computer, same or older macOS, same camera, same cable?)

Note that only CO 11.3.2 is supported for Mojave 10.14.1 (not .2 or .3).

I have experienced the same problem and after two hours of aggravation I wanted to share what settings proved successful for me. First, I should mention that I use two Macs in the studio. The camera that I'm using is a Sony a9 running on the latest firmware (Ver. 6.00).

--Desktop device is a 27" iMac running macOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.1) and I have Capture One Pro 12.1.3 on it.
--Laptop device is a 13" MacBook Air running macOS Mojave (Version 10.14.6) and I also have Capture One Pro 12.1.3 on it.

I am using a Tether Tools cable. When I tried to tether my Sony a9 to the iMac (High Sierra) it worked seamlessly, however when I tried to tether to the MacBook Air (Mojave) the LCD on the back of the Sony a9 displayed the following message (Mass USB Storage). The images on the card were displayed in C1 and it asked me if I wanted to download them but the shutter would not work, with the card inside the camera or taken out. Even worse, the camera was not recognized under the "Camera" tab in the "Capture" menu in C1 and I could not clear the LCD screen on the camera because all it displayed was the words (Mass USB Storage) and it would not focus nor allow Live View. I restarted my laptop and C1, turned the camera on and off but nothing changed.

The settings are buried deep inside the Sony a9 user guide so I'm posting this tonight just in case someone else is experiencing the same problem as I did. Here's what I had to do to make things work:

    1) in the Sony a9 menu, I went to "Network 1" menu and selected the "FTP Transfer Func."
(It's worth mentioning that if you want to search the Sony user guide, you have to use the same spelling as they do, what I mean is that if you search for the word "lan" spelled out in all lowercase letters, no results will come up. However, if you type in the words "LAN" then you will get results.
    2) On page 1 of the "FTP Transfer Func." menu select "FTP Connect Method" which will display these two options: "Wired LAN" and "Wi-Fi"
    3) Select "Wi-Fi"
**Please note that in the "Network1" menu at the bottom of the 1/3 page the "PC Remote (Wired Lan) displays in bright white letters meaning that you can click on it but when you do the next page should say "PC Remote (Wired LAN) Off" and those words are greyed out so you cannot click on them to change the setting.
    4) Go to Setup3 menu in the a9, page 3/7 and the "USB Connection" option at the bottom of that page should be greyed out as in you cannot edit it, and it should display the words "PC Remote"
    5) Go to Setup4 menu, page 4/7 and the "USB LUN Setting" should say "Multi"
    6) On the same Setup4 menu, page 4/7 the "USB Power Supply" should say "On"
    7) On the same Setup4 menu, page 4/7 click on the "PC Remote Settings and select "Still Img. Save Dest." and change that to "PC+Camera"
Final step: not sure if this is in the right order but under the "Network2" menu, the "Airplane Mode" option should be "Off".

That's what allowed me to shoot the Sony a9 using Capture One 12 while tethered to a MacBook Air running macOS Mojave. Let me know if this works for you, as I'm not sure if I may have omitted a step or described the steps out of sequence because I've been trying to solve this problem for the past two hours so my mind is a bit discombobulated by now.
