Reconnecting Catalog files after moving image folder
I did a shoot on location and used my location MacBook Pro and an external HD to store the 3000 images. Returning home, I had hoped to copy the Catalog and image folder to my RAID disk connected to my iMac and reconnect the files (in Lightroom, once you reconnect one image, all adjacent images are recognised and reconnected).
I'm able to connect individual images by clicking the '?offline' icon and Locate..., but can't see a way of connecting multiple images at once.
In the Library, under Catalog Collections, I tried to right-click both 'All Images' and the subfolders in 'Recent Imports'. Locate... is greyed out.
I've searched the forum and used Google search, but can't find an answer. I hope there is one!
I read that one solution is to rename the RAID system to the same name as my external HD, but then tens of thousands of other referenced images would appear offline.
Any thoughts would be grateful received.

Did you already try to 'locate' the whole missing folder/folder tree from the library tool?

Ah, that worked. So rather than right-clicking any of the 'Catalog Collections', I clicked on the folder in the portable hard drive (that is not connected) under the 'Folders' section. I was able to 'locate...' that and then select its new location on my RAID drive.
Perhaps there should be a more obvious reference in the instruction pages of how to do that (unless i totally missed it!).
Many thanks for your help; it's much appreciated.0 -
Yes, that's the way to do it. Glad it's solved.
The renaming is useful if you want to use the RAID at home and a USB storage when traveling, both with the same referenced images.
I've never read the instruction pages. But as far as I know, there is a tutorial or webinar in Phase One's videos on youtube covering this. It could be on an earlier version.

Hans0
