Decrement Capture Counter

I noticed this as a new feature in Captureone 8. Can someone explain the "Decrement Capture Counter†option found under the Camera Menu?

  Yes, this is a new CO8 feature. It is specifically made for tethered shooters. During tethering and using a counter in the file name, a missed image (out of focus for example, under exposed) comes in and you delete it but want the counter continue after the previous image, preventing a gap in the sequence. This way you decrement the counter.
