Sharpening values
Hello - still in my trial period with C1 and I'd be grateful if someone can help me understand Sharpening a little better. Are the Sharpening values in C1 the same as in Photoshop?
Being interested primarily in landscapes, when working previously with Aperture, I used to do all my sharpening in Photoshop at the end of my workflow. I would be keen to know if the settings I normally use in Photoshop (Amount 150, Radius 1.3 and Threshold 3) will give the same effect if I use them in C1 - if so it will be another reason not to dip into Photoshop!
Thanks again,
David

Similar but not the same.
Because there are additional things going on under the hood, so to speak, of C1Pro vs Light Room, Photoshop, Aperture, etc it is really never a safe assumption to think that the parametric values will translate 1:1 from one software to another, especially across vendors.
For your photography, one thing that you might be interested to look into would be the Clarity tool. It allows a more selective form of sharpening that can have some very nice effects in C1Pro. You can find a video explaining it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngYonxXoNBc0 -
Thanks for your reply, much appreciated...guess I'll tread carefully with regard to using sharpening in C1 until I get a handle on it, but you're right, there will be differences I suppose due to the different engines, but to my untrained eye I haven't seen anything drastic so far.
