Tags/crops etc made in C8 wont show in C7

We are using both C7 on a Mac Pro and C8 on Imac and saving files on a shared server. The work done on files in C8 on the Imac and subsequently exported to the server will not show when I import the files to the Mac pro with C7: anyone know a way to move around this?? The Mac Pro needs to be upgraded to Mavericks OSX to have C8 installed, but this is proving difficult (I have tried but it restarts in the old OS 10.6.8 ) Is it possible to run C8 and C7 together like we do??

    Not like this. Adjustments (if in 8 engine) are not backwards compatible with 7. You could do it the other way round...

    Guessed as much... I´ll have to get the Mac Pro up to the right OSX so I can run C8 on it too .. Thanks
