    Hi, thanks for your reply,
I installed the firmware updater, it recognizes my IQ180 back , it downloads the firmware to my macbook (I assume), and when I press install firmware it says; 'preparing installation' and it keeps 'preparing'. Even after one hour, nothing happens... only preparing...
I tried this on an older iMac I have without El Capitan installed (maverix) -> Same problem, preparing for hours until eternity!
Is the problem the installer or my IQ180?
It's really frustrating the way I have to work now; Shooting some images (hoping they're in focus, because with these machines you can't be absolutely shore until you're at 100% zoom), get my CF card out and into the CFCard reader, import the images to C1... jaddie jaddie jaddie! ☹️

Please tell me what I need to do in order to get my workflow back on track.
    Thanks.

I have already created a support case, but would just like to chime in here and let you know I am experiencing the same problems.

No luck tethering with the latest firmware/updates to my iq160 back and C1 with El Capitan.

Firstly I would like to mention that the firmware updater software would not work for me. Instead I downloaded the firmware, then installed manually via CF card. There were no issues installing this way.

When I connect my back to my mac via USB, C1 will recognize the camera, but I do not see shutter/aperture/iso information appear. The capture command also does not work. If I attempt to take a picture from the camera, the image goes to the CF card. If there is no CF card I simply cannot shoot.

Tethering worked perfectly fine before updating.

Sry but did you updated C1 to 8.3.4?

Yes, I have updated to the latest version of C1 as well.

Received a response on my support case stating they are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

They also told me the firmware updater is currently not compatible with El Capitan.

Apparently tethering with a USB 2.0 cable or Firewire cable should still work, but haven't been able to test this yet.

Happy to report the firmware update released a couple days ago has solved my issue.

Note that the firmware updater still doesn't work on El Capitan - have to manually update.

There is way to manually update camera without using update software
    Check this URL
    http://www.digitaltransitions.com/page/firmware-updates

Without updating digital back to latest firmware you will not be able to tether.
