C18.3.3 Capture Pilot
Hello all,
I am using C1 8.3.3 and attempting to get reliable Capture Pilot (CP) server running and recognized by iPads with Capture Pilot app.
Issues:
1/ As soon as the CP server is started, C1 crashes. This is a very old issue, it used to be solved by changing parameters Open GL support DISABLED instead of default AUTO. This gambit no longer works. Restarting the PC usually cures this bug. Very annoying.
2/ No matter how the CP tab and ipad server parameters are setup, and how you enter the server parameters manually on the iPad, the iPad app either says SERVER NOT FOUND , or if it works, (rarely) the iPad images are blank! ☹️
Question: how to configure the server parameters in C1 and on the Capture Pilot ?
There are many inconsistent options, between the PC C1 >CP tab and the iPad app:
eg MAC/PC/DB Host port auto/80, etc.
Has anyone else ever seen either of these issues? Fatal to a smooth photo session. Both issues have persisted over many C1 revs back at least to C1 7.
Any assistance is appreciated. 😄
With Kind Regards,

PS: Environment: OS: W7 Pro machine, 64 bit, 16 gB RAM, C1 program and data are NOT on C:\ due to use of SSD. iPad 2 air, latest iOS and Capture Pilot versions

Key for a smooth Capture Pilot operation is that both the iPad and the PC with CO8 are on the same local network segment. No network routing should be in between. Next, make sure your PC runs the Bonjour service, which should be installed by the CO8 installer. Note however, that an incompatible Bonjour version exists (for example installed by iTunes). I do not have specifics, I am not behind a Windows system now. 0 -
Dear Paul: Many thanks!
Everything works but not reliably.
Yes iPad and PC are on the same LAN.
Bonjour: Have to check, is there a list of compatible/incompatible versions?
Many thanks!

Paul: My BonJour version is 3.1.0.1 which is current as of the install 09/17.
Why does C1/CP need a specific version? What if Apple updates all Apple SW?
THANKS

That was not the intended message...
There is only one (2.1.3 I believe but could be wrong) that did not work well. You should be save.
I made a few recommendations. I hope you were able to check and hopefully also meet those recommendations.
Another issue could be the firewall on the PC. Is there any 3rd party firewall running? Could you test without firewall?0
