How do you move tether captured files in a catalogue?
a) I make a new collection in my catalogue
b) I set it as the capture collection
c) I set captures to be saved in a specific directory and to be added to the capture collection
Now I want to move that directory. How do I tell C1 that all the captured photos have been moved?
The directory doesn't appear in the area that shows files on the HD.
There's no ability to 'show in finder' on the collection, and no ability that I can find to move the files from within C1.
If I manually move the directory using the finder, the only way I can tell C1 where the files in the collection are now is to individually 'locate' each photo. How do I do them all in one go?

You can locate an entire folder as well, not only per image. You can do this from Library > Folders section.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, but the problem is the only thing I have in 'Library > Folders' is 'Catalog' (which is empty). Ie. setting 'Next Capture Location -> Store Files' to a folder does not put that folder in the 'Library > Folders' section, so there's no way for me to move stuff around via that interface.
What can I do?
Edit: One thing I can do is use the 'Import' feature to "import" the photos that are already in my collection back in to my collection, and ignore the duplicates warning. This makes the folder appear in 'Library > Folders', and then I can move the directory in the finder and then 'locate' the whole directory to update C1. But it seems a bit ridiculous for me to have to reimport a folder that I just used C1 to create and populate and where the photos are already in my collection.

I looked at your video and did a test. I initially thought that you had overlooked one step, and that is adding a folder to the catalog first (with + sign at Folders section in Library). But it still does not work. It has worked in previous versions of CO8 (and 7) but it was weak as far as I recall.
This is a bug and I will contact Phase One on this.
The workaround I can offer you is to shoot inside the catalog. Next, after the shoot, add a folder as mentioned to the catalog and drag the images to that folder (or folders).0 -

Thanks, I'll try that. Is this method better in any way?
I noticed that doing it my way the C1 settings and stuff appear inside a folder inside the capture directory I create, but they'll only exist within the library if I do it your way and then move the raw files to a folder after? Does that mean a possible speed improvement or improved search-ability, or the ability to see my edits when the raws have been moved to a folder on a disk that isn't currently mounted?
So rather than a "workaround", is this really the way I should be doing it? All I want is search-ability across all capture "sessions", with the ability to archive a shoot to a slow disk once post-processing is done. I don't like actual C1 sessions with the physical moving of files around to indicate selects etc.0 -

At its current state of CO8, I believe the answer is yes.0
