You might want to report this anyway in a support case. It can help Phase One to solve issues and we'll benefit from that.0 -
I am having the same issue. Help! what is open CL? 0 -
I am seeing this problem too. I am running C1 6.0.1 on a 17" MBP 2.66ghz i7. I get the scrambled previews on both the laptop screen and external Cinema Display (24" and 27").
The problem is intermittent and I haven't found a sure way to prevent it. I know you can disable OpenGL in the Photoshop preferences>performance but I don't know if that is only for Photoshop or the entire computer.
Anyone know how to disable OpenGL to check? What exactly does OpenGL do?
Thanks!

OpenCL (not ...GL, although that also exists) offloads tasks to the graphics processor of the video card to improve performance. Photoshop has implemented this in CS4 and later, Capture One in 6. Great improvement but not that robust yet. So, try to work with/without OpenCL. In Capture One, Preferences, General tab, Hardware Acceleration section. Options: Auto/Never. 0 -
I also contacted support and was told to turn off open CL.... they also said that I shouldn't be having the problem with my Mac pro configuration which is:
Model Name: Mac Pro
Model Identifier: MacPro5,1
Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon
Processor Speed: 3.33 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 6
L2 Cache (per core): 256 KB
L3 Cache: 12 MB
Memory: 24 GB
Processor Interconnect Speed: 6.4 GT/s
Boot ROM Version: MP51.007F.B03
and a:
ATI Radeon HD 5870:
Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 5870
Type: GPU
Bus: PCIe
Slot: Slot-1
PCIe Lane Width: x16
VRAM (Total): 1024 MB
I have the problem when using adjustment sliders and also when using the secondary viewer if I have many thumbnails showing they will all appear scrambled. Shutting off open CL does solve the problem but it's a step backwards solution.
Most of the complaints I have heard involve 2 screens (MacBook Pro with a secondary monitor attached or in my case 2 EIZO CG241W Displays. Maybe the glitch has something to do with Dual Monitors??

I downloaded the 6.1 update last week and noticed the release notes listed improvements of: "A number of OpenCL related defects". I started it up and didn't see any problems, but I only tried for a minute or two.
I will have more time tomorrow to see if 6.1 fixes the problems. My problems also came from a Macbook Pro with and external display connected. In my case, a 24" or 27" Apple LED Cinema display.
Let's hope they have addressed the problem.

The OpenCL issues found in 6.0 and 6.01 should all have been fixed. There should be no reason to force OpenCL to Never anymore. But obviously we would like to hear if you experience new problems.

As posted before I was having this problem. I was told to turn off open CL.. I did and everything seemed to work fine. I have now updated to 6.1 and am having the same issue again. Open CL is still off.? 0 -
Please create a support case. It sounds like a problem not related to OpenCL

I was having this scrambling problem for a time, then I was getting a second of black when I made an adjustment... not good for comparing or judging changes. I disabled the hardware acceleration and now adjustments show up with some delay... I can live with that. I have two video cards to support a three monitor workspace and the notes say that the Open CL isn't supported with two video cards. Hopefully this will be fixed in newer versions. 0
