You can create a mask from a color selection, confirmed with the X-T1 and X100S. So I assume it will be OK for other X-trans sensors as well.

What's not working is the Auto mask function in the brush (local adjustments).
The Heal local adjustment layer seems to work like a Clone layer, because it takes the same original sample point to patch the clicked area (the Heal tool would take the surrounding pixels according to the help page).

There is a list of restrictions in the release notes somewhere on their website.

    Cheers,
    Peter.

    Hi Clive,

Best check the release notes where the few anomalies that exist on a camera by camera basis are outlined.

This is a User to User forum primarily so most responders are not party to internal decisions at Phase and would not be in a position to comment even if they were.

Likewise Phase employees are not able to discuss anything much about future developments (for good reasons!) and Phase, in common with many businesses, never normally pre-announce anything.

As presented the rather different Fuji sensors present some specific and complex challenges for Phase to address technically because of the way the sensor design works compared to the way that C1 does things. One might therefore guess that the cost of development would be high and only a very significant penetration of the same sensor technology into the marketplace (or some other highly influential factor) would justify development investment for those few areas that are not currently supported. There may be other factors of course but that would be the basic issue.

In order to monitor possible demand Phase track requests for support using their Support Case system. That allows them to see where requests are related to specific features and cameras and make decisions about future developments strategy. So the best suggestion would be to raise and Enhancement Request (put that phrase in the title of the Case you create) and give the developers and opportunity to assess the level of demand for the feature(s) amongst the Fuji users who also use Capture One.

There is no guarantee that demand can be satisfied when a technical challenge is involved but at least people will know whether there is enough interest to even think about finding a way to make it work.

Thank you both fro you prompt responses. If it's just auto-mask, then that may not be as big an issue as the majority of my brush work is dodge and burn, so I rarely do large masking exercises. If I did, then I could take the image into PS for that type of adjustment.

I've never been that impressed with the healing or spot operations in Capture One. I tend to use PS for that and handle it after my main adjustment work is complete. Of course, if it's just a spot and there aren't too many, then I will handle that in CO.

As I only work on single images (fine art only), then speed of resolving adjustments is not a crucial time based problem. I normally work on an image for several days, leaving it for review over a period of time before considering it complete.

I only asked about the Fuji processor because I'm going to look at a X-Pro2 tomorrow as a potential replacement for my Nikon D810s, or at least a travel camera to have with me at all times.

Once again, thanks for the feedback.

You might first want to check whether it is supported. If PO really takes its time to profile each camera it may take a while (but then the Image Q is top!)

    Cheers!
    Peter.

Another function that doesn't work is to analyse the Chromatic Aberation, but I'm not sure whether that is because of the X-Trans sensor or the because it's built in (manufacture Profile).

    Peter.
