Capture one conflicts with Photos
Hello,
There's the issue for a long time that capture one conflicts with the Photos software of mac.
Every time you connect a camera or a card to the computer the photos software pop ups as well and it's pretty annoying.
Until now, in order to prevent it I changed the name of the contents folder inside the package contents of the software but I wonder if there's another way to prevent this conflict as I have a few customers that uses "Photos" and I wouldn't want to harm their software on their computer.

There's no conflict with CO.
You can prevent Photos from opening by clicking the "don't open" box the first time it opens. Or you can disable the auto-open feature altogether by typing a command in Terminal: http://lifehacker.com/prevent-photos-on ... 17545862970 -
The command worked! thank you! 0 -
You'll have to do it any time you insert a new SD card, as Photos pops up for any card it doesn't know yet.
I have 4 SD cards, and I had to do it 4 times 😊0 -

The link I posted supplies a command to completely disable this behavior.0 -
Also, you can use the Apple application "Image Capture" to tell the Mac which application to use when a memory card is inserted. Go to Applications-->Image Capture and open it. Insert the card and look lower left of the application window. Click the button below "Connecting this camera opens:" and select the application you want to open when memory cards are inserted. You also can choose "no application" if you wish. Image Capture defaults to Photos app and that is why Photos opens when a card is inserted. My experience is once I set it here to CO it works for all cards that are subsequently inserted. No need to have Image Capture open and no need to set it for each new card. 0 -
