We seemed to come to an agreement 😄 that there is a memory issue with this software version - it seems to uses it up when making adjustments.

As for my computer - Desktop Mac Pro
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    ...
    Memory: 12 GB

That's the weird and sad thing I noticed earlier as well that in particular the more powerful Mac, typically Mac Pro with 8 - 12 GB RAM and maybe more, CO6 has stability issues.
I do not have that hardware at hand, otherwise I would closely monitor the memory usage with Activity Monitor (memory in general and the CaptureOne processes in particular).

If you have not done so already, please create a support case and provide a complete System Profile. Also, please let the supporter know exactly where your RAW files are stored and accessed. Based on your brief description here, I suspect that their are some things we can look into here to improve performance.

I am currently having same issues. Open c1 up and soon after it crashes. Time after time. I am going to reinstall to see if this fixes it. I have had nothing but issues from The start.

    Ahhhhhhr

If you go through a reinstall cycle, follow the steps as outlined in KB article 1164 which points to cleaning up some preferences files and so on: http://www.phaseone.com/en/search/artic ... nguageid=1

In addition, repairing permissions (Disk Utility) and rebuild the drive(s) (several 3rd party tools) are strongly recommended in my book for a stable performance.

    Rob:

Thanks bazillions for posting this. We just yesterday encountered the same problem after our upgrade -- even after or Phase One reseller's chief tech blessed the upgrade without reservations. Now we are able to move forward after patching things up today. I really appreciate your making your experience public.

    Gary,

If I am the Rob to whom you are referring, you are most welcome. One thing that I have learned from this experience is how important it is to do disk maintenance on a regular basis, especially right after installing new software or upgrading an operating system. Repairing permissions and rebuilding my hard drive has done wonders for my computer that go beyond Capture One. CS5 is also running much better.

Version 6.2 is supposed to address memory and 64 bit functioning issues. We shall see if that is the case. Threads such as this one should come to an end.

    Rob
