Help with Compressed RAW files
I have a Fuji X-Pro2 with the latest firmware. I have CO 10.0.2.33. None of the pictures that I've taken in the compressed format are available for import. Do I need to do something special to have them show up?

Compressed xtrans files are currently unsupported, but we are actively working to change that fact.
Please check the supported cameras list here for reference: https://www.phaseone.com/en/Products/So ... meras.aspx0 -
Is there any date, when we can expect the support for Fuji X Compressed Raw files?
This is a very important and of course a strategic update also for Capture One. Fuji X-Pro and Fuji X-T2 are very high rated cameras and meanwhile all Capture One competitors do either already offer this update, or do actully work on a solution.
This should not take month until you have this update ready for us. Time has changed, Nikon and Canon should no longer be number one if it becomes to support and updates.
Please keep up your good work and try everything to get this update released and shipped!
Thanks in advance for your excellent support!0 -
This has taken waaaaay longer than a month.
At least now they're openly acknowledging it... for many months prior they've merely ignored the idea that Fuji users may need this, or simply pointed you toward submitting a support ticket which would then get a response "sorry this isn't supported currently". Then marked as Solved.
So this actually is progress, even though it's tough to swallow.
On large event shoot's i'm forced to use Lightroom (which I hate) because of lack of C1 support for Fuji Compressed Raw.0 -

No one has promised it would be here in a month, a week, or several years (nop, these are not examples of how long it will be taking) Things sometimes take longer than expected. Supporting the compressed format is a no-brainer, but things are not always as simple as they appear from the outside..
Also, we do support the uncompressed format, so you can still use your camera with Capture One, but of course with resulting size increase.
Regarding the answer from Support, they are telling the state of Capture One as of when you asked. Nothing wrong with their answer, and they forward your case number as a vote for the compressed format.
When they mark it solved, it's is the case that is solved from a Support standpoint, they can't do anything more than they have done already.0 -

One year we've reached now. So, it seem to be that several years after all will be truely an example how long it will be taken.0 -
Just wanted to chime in here (again). One year and counting. Paying user. In fact, subscriber.
Please, please, please, pretty please, with a cherry on top, get this sorted out.
Having worked for Fujifilm in the past, I'm well aware that it's most likely because of Fujifilm Licensing and/or Patent Bull***t, but that doesn't make it less frustrating for your users.
Did I already mention: "Please?"0 -

So could you provide the management with a way to work through those sorts of licensing, etc. problems - in case those are indeed the reasons?
Anything you can think of that might be a useful approach?0 -

Actually yes: Publicity.
Take this issue to Twitter, publicly fire (polite) questions at the FujiGuys and/or Fujifilm, get Patrick (of FujiRumors) to write a nice short article about this, etc. pp. That is guaranteed to get their attention.
As long as we spend our months (now: years) whining in the support forums, nothing is going to change.
But the instant Fujifilm publicly loses face, they'll have a good, long and very reasonable talk with their licenser(s).
(p.s: Apple seems to have the same cross-licensing problem here. Just speculating, yes. But it's a very probable speculation; I can vividly all remember the problems we had back in the days)0 -
Dear PhaseOne Team,
- Adobe Light Room can handle Fuji Compressed Raw files,
- Affinity Photo can handle Fuji Compressed Raw files
- Macphun Luminar can handle Fuji Compressed Raw files
- Photo Nina can handle Fuji Compressed Raw files
- Iridient Developer can handle Fuji Compressed Raw files
So, what licensing we are talking about?
If you read through the varoius forums, sympathy and support for Capture One is declining.
You've developed one of the best raw converter, but on the other side, Capture One is also one of the most expensive one.
You should be fair and should let the community know, whether you get this to work or not. If your competitors are able to get this to work, I can't believe you can't do this as well. You even have the chance, to present the best solution.
Everyone is counting on you and you should not hesitate to make it real. But don't wait to long, we are not waiting for ever.
Good luck and don't disappoint your biggest community and financial supporters!!!0 -
I think we have already made it quite clear, that we are going to support the compressed format.
And believe when I say, we will of course have the best solution for the increasing Fuji user group.0 -

increasing Fuji user group. Yes. I guess you mean the GFX cameras?
Oh, and compressed RAW support could bring customers to C1 since it's demosaicing and sharpening are superior to some competitors.0 -

And presumably Phase would like to keep it that way with the "compressed" files as well as the uncompressed files.0 -

Since today there's another one: a 40$ app (!) called Picktorial can handle Fuji compressed RAW pretty well. With a much clearer interface than old C1. Also a honourable mention and addendum to your list: On1 Photo RAW (120$). I don't know, if I were Capture One developer I'd be embarassed about this low cost and well doing competition. More than one year and counting we are waiting and meanwhile we only can decide between stacking more super fat RAW-files, get an Adobe(!) DNG converter to work to stack even more fat DNG files or bite the sour apple and get another converter. Yeah, why not? As a DAM C1 is pretty poor given it's price.
Because no matter what Capture one claims to be best converter - this waiting period is a shame and there's no single guarantee there will not be some major bugs at first release. Not to mention the still braking-all-workflow interface with tiny buttons. Results are excellent, true, but time consuming as well.
83 results when asking "Fuji compressed". Impressive.0 -
If I were you, and if this issue concerned me very much, I would have switched for long to an other RAW developer, cheaper, better and faster than Capture One. I tried many before switching from Lightroom to Capture One, and I chose Capture One because it gave me the best results, exactly what I expected. This is the reason of my presence on this forum. I always try to be positive, and trust the Phase One staff. I know they work, I know there are improvements to be done (they know that as well), and I know that no RAW developer is perfect, yet. 0 -
I already paid for Capture One 😉
So, switching to another converter just happens because after 3 or 4 requests at C1 support and always get a "license problem, case closed" reply I get a little bit tired of that type of weird response.
Switching to another converter is inconvenient and at the same time showing how cool some solutions of others actually are. It's not increasing satisfaction with C1. Especially because I'm not urging to learn new converters - I would like to remain happy C1 user but they don't let me.
Just in case you wanna try the same type of path.0 -
Signed in as BetaTester, asked On1 PhotoRAW how they deal with their 30 days money back guarantee.
Got the refund mail right now 🤓 So I can spend this money on the pretty good looking 10.1.0
Again, a major update (from 9.2 to 10.1) which makes the still working Mac OS 10.10 obsolete, demanding at least OS 10.11 which I don't like 😭 I mean, being forced to update a whole (elder) system just to make a RAW-processor work...
I understand some progress has happened - unfortunately as well disprogress, as a couple of features would become different: Spotlight is worse, no more firewire target mode which made some things easy. So I'll first betatest on my experimental Macbook, but so far it's looking smooth - although I miss the lens profiles.0 -

Well, I only can say you have the best solution for the increasing Fuji user group. 🤓 So, THAT took you one year? In that case, it was worth the effort. "outstanding", you have me back onboard. 😉0 -
