When you upgrade to CO7, you can use the new license key for all intermediate versions, if you prefer one (temporarily). So that issue is covered.

The Mac G5 is out of order. Only 64-bits Intel Macs are in charge for CO7. Your 17" MacBook Pro does not give you sufficient performance for CO7. It can work (I have a similar system) but the eagle does not fly very well. CO6 is better suited for this system and CO Pro 6.4.5 does the 5D mkIII as well.

OS X 10.6.8 is still compatible for CO7, but a later version is advised (with more recent hardware) so that is not a serious issue. There are still some Snow Leopard lovers around here, so you won't be alone. 😉

Thank you Paul. With that information in hand I think C1 6 sounds like the best answer for us. I appreciate your help, it no doubt saved me a lot of hassle.

    Best,

    Bill
