Sending images to designer
Hi, I need to send a bunch of raw photos to a designer to update my website with higher resolution versions of the photos. I don't want to just make a copy of my whole library because half the photos in it have no relevance to the project. Is there any way to export the COP11 adjustment settings as sidecar files (Lightroom does this with XMP files) so I can simply drag and drop all the relevant folders to the external HDD I'm going to send the designer without losing the adjustments I've made? Thanks!

Does your designer really need RAW?
Tiff or hq jpg should be 'enough' in most situations 😊0 -
Yes, you can: Menu - 'Export Images' - 'Originals' and 'include Adjustments'.
Are you really willing to share your raw images with your designer?
Does your designer have CO? Otherwise he'll see unadjusted raw images. No other software will reproduce CO's adjustments.

Thanks WPNL, I vacillated back and forth on this, but there are thousands of images spanning over a decade (about 2 TB worth) that need to be sorted through and re-exported, and I just don't have time to do this.
Hans, thanks for your response, I tried doing Export images, but I want to export to keep the original folder structure (year/month/shoot), is there any way to do this without exporting each folder individually? The designer has COP so that's not a problem.0 -
This sounds like job for the Capture One EIP format. 0 -
Maybe not exactly. Depending on your workflow and storage model.
Try something like this:
- select a root folder as 'Destination',
- then set "<image year>/<image month>/<image folder name>" as 'Sub Folder' with tokens.
Works for my referenced folders with the structure
'/path/to/all/photos/YYYY/YYYYMMDD_CATEGORY_Title'.
Your designer uses CO, so you can use 'Pack As Eip', which actually puts each raw image with all it's adjustment into a zip compressed eip file. Easier to move around than raws and separate sidecars.

Hans
EDIT: Make sure you both use the same version of CO!0 -
Thanks Hans you're a genius! That's exactly what I needed. 😄 0 -
You're welcome. But not a genius here. Just another user. 😂
