Can you process the image? CO Pro 8 has both an export and a process function.

Processing produces the same effect, with the time counter on the lefthand side moving upwards in seconds

It looks like some images I can export as Variants, some I cannot, in the same sessions, and on multiple sessions this occurs. Some variants have been previously exported, some have not, some have been adjusted, some have not.
I have now created a new session, then imported the images from the Capture session into the new session, and all seems well.
I have yet to try this out on another session, but will update this post when I do later today. Sessions from previous version of 8 seem to be the problem.
Will I have to import older versioned sessions into new version sessions?

Renewing the session was my next step in troubleshooting, so glad you already discovered that. The issue is most likely the session database. There is a simple trick to renew the database.

You delete or rename the <session name>.cosessiondb file. In CO8 you create a NEW session with the same name and location as the old. This will only create a new session db file. All images and adjustments are left alone. You will lose session favourites and session albums.

In my experience (just once with V7) something happens to the session database that makes links mis-linked, strange things can happen. The cause of the problem, being a relational database, may be nothing remotely close to where the problem presents itself.

I have seen - very rarely - such problems appear in a number of applications in several different areas of software development and product deployment.

Usually recreating the "master" file, in this case the session database file, will resolve the problem with little or no loss of work already undertaken. Or at least it will using WIndows and Unix. I assume that Macs are the same.

Yes, looks like some form of DB corruption, . . . . thank everyone for reading this topic and helping me trouble shoot it on Sunday, I have a lot of editing to get done today, and I REALLY didn't want to use the Adobe RAW engine.
    Thanks!

Exact same thing just happened to me. I shot some pictures to card yesterday and loaded them into my 8.0 session. I processed out a bunch of them with no problems. Then I updated to 8.01, and since then I can't process anything...

I make a few observations about the issue 'can not process or export, while it was working fine before':
    - user has updated to 8.0.1
    - user has Nikon D810 files (as far as posters have reported their camera file type)
    - reverting to 8.0.0 does not help
    - replacing the session db file helps (temporarily?)
    - takes place with both session and catalog
I see a parallel thread at here:
    viewtopic.php?f=55&t=17291
I will post this in the other thread too.

I am also using a Nikon D810. I tried replacing the session db file and that did not help.
Just for kicks, I tried processing from an older non 810 session and that is not working
    either now....

Same problem here. Processing D810 files on three different macs all running CO8.0.1 is impossible. Tried new session files to no avail.

With the file naming issues, contact sheet problems and tethering problems seems like the D810 and CO are a nightmare combo at the moment.

If anyone has any urgent images they're trying to get out I just reverted to CO8.0.0 and I was able to export again.

Thanks, that worked for me as well...
