Sony DSC-RX100 Raw Support
Hi - wondering if someone can explain to me the current state of raw processing in Media Pro for a Sony RX-100 camera? Does Media Pro support it .ARW files? If not, is there a way to convert the Sony raw files to a different raw format that MP will support?
Thanks - bit of a newbie wrt to RAW workflow.

I too am wondering about when native support for .ARW files will arrive, please, Phase One?
Two workarounds, but neither is satisfactory:
1. Shoot RAW + jpg and use the jpg to index
2. Convert to Adobe's DNG format (free converter on Adobe site) and use that. There is a Automator workflow available which helps to automate the process a little0 -
Raw processing in MP depends on either one of:
- system media processing engine (depends on Windows or Mac OSX)
- Capture one engine.
And, Phase One is not going to give you feature planning on these forums, or at all.0 -

Format support isn't a "feature" (like e.g. scene modes, though often of little value) but a question of how much of your customer base you are willing to support. The plethora of RAW formats is a real mess, OK, but it would seem Adobe are unfortunately pulling ahead.
If this isn't the place to provide feedback, please excuse my unfamiliarity, what is the best route?0 -
I'm having the same problem with a99 files in MP, although C1 7 handles them well. As a900 and a77 files are fine in MP, I assume a99 ability is just around the corner.

The best place for feedback or at least when you search formal response from Phase One, you need to enter a support ticket. You can do that via your login on the website.
The other part is nice of you to say, but if you've read my reply, you may notice that it is either your operating system supporting, or not, you RAW format. That as such has nothing to do with the vendor of the application.
The second option, is depending on the vendor of the application. I assume (but this is only me), that since C1 V7 has only just been released, they're working on integrating the new engine into MP. I would have liked it when they'd done it before releasing any of it, but well, this is usually the way it goes.0
